Teaching staff

The Summer School will be taught by an international team of experienced trainers.

Hyojung Cho, Associate professor of Heritage Management, Museum of Texas Tech University, USA

Dr Hyojung Cho is an Associate Professor of Heritage Management in the Heritage and Museum Science program of Texas Tech University. She holds degrees in History, Museum Studies and Cultural Policy. Her academic interests are to investigate the use of heritage resources in society, especially institutionalised or authorised heritage, promoting sustainability and a holistic approach to safeguarding heritage.

Nick Crofts, chair ICOM/CIDOC Training Association & Associate Professor Museum of Texas Tech, USA

Nick has been working internationally for museums, libraries, and archives since 1986. He has a background in the humanities and information science and enjoys working at the intersection of the two fields - explaining technical issues to curators and art history to computer programmers. Nick was instrumental in the development of ISO 21127 (aka the CIDOC CRM), an international standard for the exchange of cultural heritage information. Nick currently works for the International Olympic Committee, as knowledge engineer/data curator with responsibility for the Patrimonial Reference Ontology and is a Visiting Professor at the Museum of Texas Tech University.

Georges Favraud, Researcher & lecturer. Université de Toulouse Jean Jaurés, France

Georges Favraud holds a PhD in Anthropology from Paris Nanterre University and currently teaches at the University of Toulouse (France), where he conducts research on traditional Chinese culture and practices, intangible cultural heritage and contemporary social change. Georges also teached the Chinese corporal arts taijiquan and qigong. He is a member of the Permanent Council of the International Conference of Taoist Studies and a coordinator of the ITI-Unesco Network on Performing Arts.

Harald Kraemer, Associate Professor, City University, Hong Kong

Harald Kraemer has worked as a producer, information architect and creative director of online and offline hypermedia applications for museums and universities. harald hold a PhD in History of Art from the University Trier/Moselle and a Diploma in Museology and Curatorial Studies from the Viennese Institute for Cultural Studies. Since 2014 he is Head of the MA Program, Curating Art & Media of the School of Creative Media at City University, Hong Kong.

Manvi Seth, Professor and Head of Museology, National Museum Institute, New Delhi, India

Manvi Seth is Dean of the NMI, Professor and Head of Museology at the National Museum Institute. She has worked as curator of decorative arts at the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, Jaipur. Her current research projects focus on Visitor Studies, Museum Education and the Documentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage, notably in Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh, India.
